Eligibility
General Medical Necessity Criteria regardless of IBHS role, includes the following:
To qualify for IBHS services, the child or youth must:
Be under age 21
Have a diagnosed mental health or developmental condition
Demonstrate functional impairment in home, school, or community settings
Require individualized behavioral health intervention to improve functioning
Meet medical necessity criteria as determined by a licensed practitioner of the healing arts (LPHA)
Have services authorized through Medical Assistance (Medicaid) or other eligible funding sources
Eligibility for IBHS service requires a Written Order. A Written Order:
is good for up to 12 months (meaning you can access services for up to 12 months AFTER the written order was completed)
provides the maximum number of hours per month that IBHS could be provided (but the actual number of hours per month will be determined through a comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment plan with staffing assignments based on clinical need, symptom severity, functional impairment and treatment goals.
Behavior Consultant (BC or BC-ABA) / Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Assigned when the child or youth requires behavioral assessment, treatment plan development, and ongoing monitoring of complex behavioral health needs. These clinicians design individualized interventions, conduct functional behavioral assessments, and provide clinical oversight when specialized behavioral expertise is required, including ABA-based interventions.
Mobile Therapist (MT)
Assigned when the child or youth requires individualized therapeutic intervention to address emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric symptoms. Mobile Therapists provide psychotherapy, skill development, and therapeutic support to improve emotional regulation, coping, and overall functioning across settings.
Behavioral Health Technician (BHT or BHT-ABA)
Assigned when the child or youth requires direct, one-to-one implementation of behavioral interventions to support skill acquisition and reduce problematic behaviors. BHT services are provided under the supervision of a BC, BCBA, or MT and are used when consistent behavioral support is needed in home, school, or community settings.

Application process
Speak to a member of our Centralized Intake department to have a Psychological Evaluation scheduled to determine if medical necessity criteria are present. This evaluation will generate a Written Order if IBHS is considered medically necessary.
Fees
Must have Medical Assistance, or if the youth have an Autism diagnosis, they may qualify for payment through a commercial insurance policy under Act 62.
