Franklin County Government - Aging Services

Program for those providing care for a care dependent older adult. The caregiver is the primary manager of their care. The program works to ease the stresses of caregiving by focusing on the well-being of the caregiver. The program provides the primary caregiver with reimbursement for out-of-pocket costs associated with caregiver, such as respite, personal care, and caregiving-related services and supplies. The program also offers education, training, counseling, and more.

Application process

Individuals are able to call for information. Income and assessment are required during the intake process.

Fee

There is a cap to the amount of reimbursement provided.

Eligibility

A) Primary caregiver is 18+, caring for a dependent older adult 60+ B) An individual age 18-59 with Alzheimer's or other chronic dementia C) Primary Caregiver is 55+ and caring for an individual age 18-59 with a disability (cannot be dementia related) D) Care receiver must require assistance with at least 1 ADL E) Household income is taken into account

Franklin County is governed by a board of three county commissioners elected every four years by the citizens who live here.
