Franklin County Government - Caregiver Support Program (CSP)

Offers resources and assistance to those managing care for a care-dependent older adult. Works to ease the stresses of caregiving by focusing on the well-being of the caregiver. Provides reimbursement for out-of-pocket costs associated with caregiving expenses, such as respite, personal care, and caregiving supplies and services. Caregiving education, training, and support are also offered.

Individuals are able to call for information. Income and assessment are required during the intake process.

Fee

There is a cap to the amount of reimbursement provided.

Eligibility

For Caregivers of Adults Age 60+ or with Alzheimer’s Disease or Related Disorders: A) Caregiver must be 18 years of age or older and must be the primary caregiver of an individual age 60 or older B) Must be responsible for arranging supports for care receivers C) Care receiver must be partially or fully functionally dependent with at least one activity of daily life D) The caregiver and care receiver are not required to live in the same residence For Older Relatives Caring for Adults with Disabilities: A) The caregiver must be 55 years of age or older and must be the primary caregiver of an individual with a disability B) Caregiver must be related by blood, marriage, or adoption C) Care receiver must be 18-59 years old and have a non-dementia disability D) The caregiver and care receiver must live in the same residence

Franklin County is governed by a board of three county commissioners elected every four years by the citizens who live here.
