From Thanksgiving break to Columbus Day, Riverbend takes the pressure off parents to engage their kids during the various school holidays. Our year-round exploration camp offers a relaxed combination of hikes, stories, crafts, science experiments, hands-on activities and free exploration. Flexible and low-key, our program meets the needs of busy parents while providing kids the perfect place for holiday fun.

Riverbend Environmental Education Center
Riverbend Environmental Education Center, a non-profit organization located on the southbound bend of the Schuylkill River, has specialized in providing environmental education to children since 1974. Our mission is to "stimulate awareness, appreciation and understanding of our total environment and to preserve a natural wildlife habitat." Through our myriad of programming, Riverbend strives to provide children with a positive outlet to the natural world, thus fostering lifelong environmental values. Our educational lineup includes summer exploration camps, on and offsite school programs, weekend public programs, on-going nature classes, as well as special events. In addition, we offer thirty acres of open space available to the public every day of the year from dawn to dusk.
