Offers assessments by licensed optometrists, prescriptions for optical aids, and the opportunity to try out aids ranging from magnifiers, writing guides, special lighting devices, and closed-circuit TVs. Prevention of blindness programs including free vision screenings for children 12 months to 6 years of age. Transportation: This free door-to-door service provides rides to essential medical appointment or critical service need, such as obtaining a photo ID or grocery shopping. Individuals must live in Allegheny County and meet the program criteria. Appointments requested to be made in advance.

Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh
Offers training, rehabilitation, and supportive services to help people who are blind, deaf-blind, or vision impaired. Our programs and services help individuals live safely and remain or become independent and self-sufficient. We provide instruction in Personal Adjustment to Blindness and Computer Access Technology. We offer day programs, vocational and employment services, Low Vision and Primary Vision services, and coordinate supported employment opportunities. Children's Vision Screening is also offered.
