York County Government - York County Human Services Department - Adult Day Program and Out of Home Respite
Supervises activities and social contacts for those older adults who require more support than can be provided at a Senior Community Center. Offers respite for caregivers enabling them to work outside of the home or offer a break from the daily rigors of twenty-four hour care giving. SERVICES: socialization & recreation, nutrition, transportation, supervision & basic personal care, reality orientation, and Self-help training can be found in the Adult Day Care Centers.

Call for more information. A care manager with the YCAAA must complete an assessment of the individual's medical, physical, and emotional needs to authorize this service.

Eligibility
A) York County resident B) 60 years of age or older C) Unable to care for their own personal needs or require 24 hour supervision due to a mental or physical disabilities D) Ambulatory or able to use a wheelchair or walker for mobility with assistance E) Uncontrolled behavior problems cannot be managed in Adult Day Care F) Be able to withstand transportation for at least one half-hour or have caregivers be able to transport the participant one or both ways within the hours of operation.
