Other Information

Focus Population

  • Low Income
Habitat builds, renovates and repairs homes in partnership with qualifying homebuyers in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties whose income is too low to qualify for FHA or conventional mortgages or loans. Homes are sold to participating families with a zero percent interest, affordable mortgage. Families are required to contribute sweat equity hours; this includes working on the build/repair site, taking financial literacy and home maintenance classes and entering a mentorship program. Habitat is not an emergency housing provider.
Providing organization
Habitat for Humanity
Creates affordable home ownership opportunities with and for low income families. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses alongside homeowner partner families. ReStores offer quality used and surplus building materials at a fraction of normal prices. Proceeds from the sales help to fund the construction of Habitat houses within local communities.
