Description
Appraises real estate within the county for the local property tax levy. Administers the Act 319/Act 156 (Clean and Green) preferential assessment program allowing for a reduced assessment for farm, open space and woodland properties to promote continuing use of these properties. Processes and maintains all submitted applications for the Homestead program applicable to school taxes. Assessment appeals board hears appeals filed by property owners.
