Allegheny County SNAP recipients. The expanded work requirements will apply to individuals who: A) Are between 18-64 years old; B) Do not have a dependent child under 14 years old; and CO Are considered physically and mentally able to work In addition, being a veteran or a current or former foster youth age 18-24 will no longer be an exemption. Some people may still be exempt from these requirements if they meet a different exemption.

Description

Provides Allegheny County residents with information about the new SNAP work requirements and assistance with reporting their status. As of September 1, 2025, certain individuals are required to be working for at least 20 hours a week (or 80 hours each month) or qualify for an exemption. Individuals must report that they are meeting these work requirements or verify their exemption. This service provides the forms necessary to report an individual’s work or exemption status. Also offers assistance with completing the forms and submitting them to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.
