Description

Lancaster County Prison houses individual's that are minimum to maximum security levels. Average length of stay is approximately 120 days. Those committed and sentenced can be held for periods up to 2 years less one day. The prison offers a wide range of services that support the rehabilitation of individuals, reduction of the likelihood of the individual coming back to jail and prepares them for successful reintegration into the community. The programs that are offered include educational classes and evidence-based curriculum. Reentry needs are also addressed while the individual is incarcerated. Services available to those incarcerated: Prison Physician: 24-hour medical coverage and emergency services through PrimeCare Medical. Prison Psychiatrist: Mental health and crisis counseling through PrimeCare Medical. Drug and Alcohol (D&A) Education: Group D&A education Alcoholics Anonymous meetings through community volunteers Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) Anger and stress management classes Parenting classes Relationship management Individual and group spiritual counseling and services through daily clergy visits Career Development
