School Based Career Lectures
Career lectures and presentation are taken in to particapting schools. Each lecture is designed for a designated age group. Career Lecture Series: One to two class periods where a diverse range of professionals (e.g., healthcare, trades, business, sciences, etc.) will visit area high schools and provide an in-depth discussion about their respective careers, the skills and/or educational pathways required to be successful and the potential opportunities for advancement. Students will have the opportunity to interact with these professionals to stimulate conversations about the endless careers out there. Designed for 9th to 12th grade students. Careers in Energy (Gas, Nuclear, Electric, Oil and Green (Solar and Wind)): Working in partnership with Cabot Oil & Gas and regional energy companies, provide a one-day classroom presentation with businesses from these five sectors within the energy field. Northern Tier Income and Education Consortium
Works with 25 school districts with the aim to create a highly-skilled workforce in Northeastern Pennsylvania through the integration of school employment and training processes. An industry and education consortium Board of Directors is in place with representatives from leading employment sectors, schools, and colleges in the area. NTIEC staff members are working directly with schools and employers to coordinate joint programming.
