Center for New Americans

Helps refugees, asylees, and victims of human trafficking prepare to enter the workforce. Services include Vocational English Language Training (VELT) classes; acculturation workshops; case management services; workshops on interviewing, resume writing, workforce foundation skills, and job readiness; computer literacy classes; job placement assistance and follow-up; and programming assisting youth ages 16 to 17 find part-time work during the school year or full-time summer employment.

Eligibility

Residents of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties who have refugee status and are within 5 years of date of entry to the United States, even if a Green Card has been received, or have been granted asylum status.
