Description
Pre-kindergarten programming with a focus on children who are at risk for academic failure. Services are provided by certified teachers at no charge and support the inclusion of children with diverse needs. Pre-K Counts is a kindergarten readiness programs for 3-, 4- and 5-year olds who are not yet enrolled in school. Services are available five days a week during the school year. Administered at eight local school districts. Programs and services reflect its mission to provide quality education services that help students learn and support teachers in bringing best practices to the classroom as well as offering valuable services to school districts.The CSIU's primary service area consists of Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties in central Pennsylvania. This area includes 17 school districts, 3 career and technical centers, 69 nonpublic schools, 3,905 district, instructional, administrative and support staff and 36,945 public and nonpublic school students.
