Social Assistance staff work with clients who need one-time or short term help in a crisis. These services include: Information, referral and application assistance for essential services such as utility and rent assistance, cash assistance, food stamps, affordable housing, medical assistance t. Some clients need more intensive, long term assistance to achieve personal and financial stability. These clients are referred to a case manager, who helps them develop goal plans and works closely with them to ensure their success in accomplishing their goals.
