Eligibility

Butler County residents

Hours

Intake: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 10:30am Hearings: Petitions are presented to a Family Court Judge at approximately 11:30am on the same day. Emergency Petitions: Coordinated by the Magisterial District Judge after 1:00pm.

Application process

Visit the Family Court offices to file a request for a PFA or PSVI. Arrive no later than 10:30am to file for an initial (temporary) PFA. For individuals who arrive after 10:30am, staff will help to assess whether filing an Emergency Petition is appropriate.
