Application process
There are four ways to get started with WIC: A) Visit the intake website and complete an online pre-application B) Print out a paper application from the Applications List and take it to your health care provider. Print applications can be found here: https://www.alleghenycounty.us/Services/Children-and-Families/Women-Infants-and-Children-WIC/Enrollment C) Call to request an appointment D) Stop by one of the WIC Clinics to pick up a paper application. WIC Clinic locations can be found here: https://www.alleghenycounty.us/Services/Health-Department/Clinics-and-Facilities/Women-Infants-and-Children-Clinics Once you submit your application, WIC staff will contact you to set an appointment for you to get enrolled.
Fee
There is no fee to enroll in WIC. Participants are required to meet income guidelines of 185% of poverty (or lower) to qualify. People can be adjunctively eligible if they receive Medical Assistance, TANF, or SNAP.
Eligibility
Allegheny County residents who are: A) Pregnant individuals B) Breastfeeding individuals or bottle-feeding individuals who recently had a baby C) Infants up to 1 year of age D) Children up to 5 years of age E) A custodial father, foster parent, or legal guardian of a child up to age 5 Please note, US citizenship is NOT required to get WIC.
