It uses federal, state and local programs and effective local partnerships to achieve its goals. Community Basics serves primarily low and moderate income households by: - conducting or promoting activities designed to provide safe and adequate housing and related services and to alleviate housing shortages - combating community deterioration, poverty, racial discrimination and prejudice; reducing neighborhood tensions - relieving the poor, distressed and underprivileged - conducting or promoting residential rehabilitation and commercial area revitalization - developing health, social and recreational services facilities - providing other social services and counseling - raising the economic and educational levels of underprivileged residents
