Adult Autism Waiver
The Adult Autism Waiver (AAW) is a 1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Medicaid waiver designed to provide long-term services and supports for community living, tailored to the specific needs of adults aged 21 or older with ASD. The program is designed to help adults with autism spectrum disorder participate in their communities in the way they want to, based on their identified needs.

Eligibility
Must be age 21 or older. Medical Evaluation. Diagnosis of autism. Recommended for an intermediate care facility (ICF) level of care based on a medical evaluation. Determined eligible for Medical Assistance (MA). Meet the financial requirements as determined by your local County Assistance Office. Financial Eligibility: Must meet the income and resource limits for Medical Assistance and Payment of Long Term Care Services. The income limit is currently 300 percent of the Supplemental Security Income Federal Benefit Rate. More information on the Federal Benefit Rate can be found at: www.ssa.gov.
