Focus Population

  • Experiencing Homelessness
Provides: Up to five emergency shelter rooms for single parents, referred by Coordinated Entry and verified homeless. Case management consists of budgeting, housing, employment, mental health referrals, childcare referrals and any additional services that are needed for the client to transition to permanent housing. 20 Section 8 single room occupancies (SRO) for women, referred by Coordinated Entry. There is also affordable private pay income based permanent rooms available. Rent is based on fair market value; however, if rent is more than half of the person's income the tenant will only pay 50% of their income. Single females persons may apply in person at office on Lime and Orange or online.

Current offerings include the Center for Racial and Gender Equity community advocacy, education, support groups, workshops, and training; Kepler Hall Emergency Shelter and Residence for women survivors and their families; Child Enrichment Center providing child enrichment for ages six weeks to five years and before/after school care in a number of settings; Sexual Assault Prevention and Counseling Center with a 24 hour hotline and no-cost professional counseling for survivors of sexual assault and their significant others.
