Eligibility

Adults age 18 and older (no children) experiencing homelessness in the Scranton area.

Hours

On a day the shelter is open, community members will be able to enter at 7:30pm and the shelter will remain open until 6:00am the next morning.

Application process

Walk-in when shelter is opened due to forecasted weather conditions as above.

Description

Provides a weather-related emergency shelter for those who are homeless and would be exposed to extreme conditions throughout the winter months. Code Blue Shelter will open the doors to the community when the temperature is forecast to be 20 degrees or below and/or a forecast of 12 inches or more of snow. Bedrolls, cots, bedding, pillows, access to bathroom and shower are provided.
