PECO Energy - Helper Pool Pre-Apprenticeship Program

Adults age 18+; High school diploma or GED; Clean drug test; Successful completion of entrance exams; Physically able to do the work of the trade

Offers a 14-week pre-apprenticeship program. Includes courses in work safety, electric and gas basics, technical maintenance, and other skills. Provides mentorship and opportunities to shadow and assist PECO employees on the job. Prepares participants for the construction and skilled trades exam and CDL certification. Prepares graduates for a range of careers such as aerial line mechanic, underground mechanic, distribution gas mechanic, transmission and substations testing mechanic, and others. Pre-apprentice Helpers are paid approximately $21 per hour.
