Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania - Southwestern Pennsylvania - Youth Empowerment Project
Provides a free out-of-school time program and summer enrichment camp. Designed to promote positive youth development, YEP prioritizes youth voice and choice in a safe space that provides enriching activities and fosters healthy connections between youth and adults. Youth and families from all neighborhoods are welcome to enroll. There are no income guidelines.

Eligibility
School-age students in Sharpsburg, Etna, Millvale, Shaler, Blawnox. YEP is also serving students in the East End of Pittsburgh (Homewood, East Liberty, Wilkinsburg, Larimer, East Liberty, East Hills, Lincoln). Participation is open to any individual, family, or organization located within those communities.

Operates programs serving persons with disabilities; children and youth; individuals and families in emergency situations; those in need of employment; older adults, families, and couples on fixed incomes; individuals with severe and chronic mental illness; infants, children, and adolescents who have been abused, neglected, and/or exploited; children dealing with behavioral challenges and educational deficits; pregnant teens and teenage mothers; as well as children of incarcerated parents and their families. Offers 28 separate programs throughout the state with offices in Allentown, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Wilkes-Barre.
