Pre-Release Program

Provides a rehabilitative program for male and female inmates that works in collaboration with community service providers and volunteers to empower incarcerated individuals to transform their thinking and behaviors while preparing for their future. Participants live in communal, faith-based housing units in Allegheny County Jail and meet for over 120 hours of class and group work.

Application process

Call or email to request information for an incarcerated individual. The individual must then choose to apply to become a participant in the Hope Pre-Release Program.

Service provided free of charge.

Offers Diversion programs for both adults and youth as alternatives to incarceration. Provides pre and post release care for incarcerated and released individuals. Offers inmates support and direction both during their time at the jail and after their release, thereby increasing their capacity to make responsible decisions and avoid repeat offenses.
