African Family Health Organization (AFAHO) - Behavioral Health Program
Offers culturally attuned approaches to providing behavioral health care and promoting wellness, including coed, single gender, age group-specific, and intergenerational group meetings, and individual counseling. Teaches practices for successful assimilation, emphasizing coping skills to prevent risks of detrimental behaviors within and outside the home. Encourages parents to understand and facilitate their children's natural inclination to adapt, while still maintaining their cultural identity.

Provides culturally sensitive health, human, and educational services to African and Caribbean immigrants and refugees (ACIR) in the greater Philadelphia area. Maintains a presence in the community through street outreach and building relationships with community establishments, braiding salons, churches, mosques, community organizations and associations, stores, restaurants and schools located in the geographic area populated by our target population.
