Travelers Aid of Pittsburgh - Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP)

Eligibility

Allegheny County residents who receive Medicaid (Medical Assistance). Must be age 64 or younger and able to ride public transportation.

Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm

Application process

Applications available and accepted at most in-network Medicaid health service providers. Paper applications are available for individuals who are not using in-network providers. Call for details.

Fees

Services provided free of charge.

Provides Pittsburgh Regional Transit fare to and from non-emergency Medicaid-reimbursable services and facilities. Included are doctor's appointments, other medical trips (dentist, therapist, pharmacy), drug and alcohol counseling, and mental health counseling as long as the services are billed through Medical Assistance.

Provides transportation assistance through a variety of programs that offer public transit assistance, gas assistance, and ride-hailing (Lyft, UBER and zTrip). Assistance is offered through local programs to assist clients to attend medical and social service appointments and employment-related activities.
