Duties of the Sheriff -To enforce all orders of the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas . To serve bench warrants, civil writs and protection from abuse orders . To conduct levies, sales of personal property and real estate . To provide security and protection for court related unctions and all county facilities . To transport prisoners to and from county, state, and federal institutions for court appearances * To arrest violators of the law and fugitives . To assist other law-enforcement agencies in the county . To assist in special law-enforcement efforts such as Central Booking, DUI roving and saturations patrols, and community events . To issue Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms and Licenses to Sell Firearms.
