Offers four programs to help low-income Pennsylvania residents get or keep their telephone service. They are:
- Lifeline: Provides a credit of $11.75 on the regular monthly telephone bill. Persons are eligible if they receive SSI or TANF or their yearly income meets Lifeline guidelines. Persons eligible for this program receive a $20 credit towards the connection charge.
- Lifeline 135: Provides a credit of up to $9.25 on the regular monthly telephone bill. Customer can purchase Optional Services (Caller ID, Call Waiting, etc.) and certain packages that include local toll and /or optional services. Persons eligible for this program receive a $20 credit towards the line connection charge.
- Universal Telephone Assistance Program (UTAP): Helps Verizon Pennsylvania low-income customers pay some or all of their telephone bill's basic charges. Qualified Lifeline applicants can receive up to $200 (first time) and up to $100 every six months thereafter. The Dollar Energy Fund manages this program for Ver
