Founded in 1998 to bring people together, to facilitate discussion, to provide information and to enable informed community decision-making on important issues facing Lancaster County. The foundation seeks the input of individuals, organizations and city and county government as it investigates community issues with public feedback, stakeholder interviews, public forums, expert analysis and presentations of investigation findings.

Dedicated to protecting Lancaster County’s unique character for generations to come. They exist to provide information, encourage collaboration, and inspire innovative ways of thinking and, in doing so, protect the County’s unique character and enviable Quality of Life. Observation and Research: They pay attention to trends happening in the community, throughout the state, and beyond that might affect Lancaster’s future. This information is gathered through research, observation, and conversation with their partners. Consulting Leaders and Informing the Public: Through their forums and publications, they inform the public in key Quality of Life areas. They also work with leaders in Lancaster County to empower them to make informed decisions. Encouraging Collaboration and Innovative Thinking: Complex legacy issues require coalitions of people and organizations to tackle them. They connect stakeholders and decision makers and create the space for innovative problem solving to take place.
