Application process
Individuals should call the office to schedule an appointment for services. For those individuals who have a referral for housing services sent via a non-hmis referral process, please note that the Franklin County Veteran Affairs office will call, within (3) business working days, directly to the individual to follow-up the current information and determine if the individual meets the eligibility for services. At that point, an intake appointment is scheduled with the individual.

Eligibility
Veterans' Eligibility Criteria: A) A person who served in the Armed Forces of the United States, who: B) Was discharged under honorable conditions after a period of active duty, other than active duty for training, as evidenced by a DD Form 214 or other official documentation, or C) Died in service or was killed in action, or D) Suffered a service-connected disability as certified by the United States Veterans' Administration. Need for Temporary Assistance Criteria: UNEXPECTED Financial circumstances temporarily resulting in insufficient funds to pay for shelter and necessities of living for the Veteran and family; Call Franklin County Veterans Affairs for more information concerning Veterans Temporary Assistance.

Franklin County is governed by a board of three county commissioners elected every four years by the citizens who live here. The Board of Commissioners oversees the entire operation of the county and represents the best interests of the citizens.
