Victim Services Center of Montgomery County - Advocacy Services
Provides support, encouragement, information, and assistance to victims of crime and their significant others. This includes helping victims navigate the legal system or explore their reporting options. Educates victims and survivors about their rights, and provides accompaniment to criminal court hearings, hospitals, police departments, SVP hearings (Sexual Violence Protection orders), and PFI hearings (Protection From Intimidation). Assists with Victim Impact Statements, filing for Victims Compensation, enrollment in the Crime Victim Notification Program, and registering for post-sentencing notifications. Offers crisis intervention, as well as information and referrals to appropriate legal and community resources.
