Description

Deploys trained volunteers to provide objective reviews of housing or housing-related services for quality, content, and quantity of information and services. Volunteers are compensated as testers and trained under the methodologies approved by the Department of Housing and Development.

Assists individuals in the Greater Pittsburgh Area who believe they have experienced housing discrimination (in rental, sales, mortgage, or homeowner's insurance processes) by enforcing fair housing laws, aiding persons with disabilities with requesting reasonable accommodations, and providing community outreach and education. Services include advocacy, assistance in filing reasonable accommodation requests and fair housing complaints, investigating discrimination claims, references to qualified attorneys, education of landlords and real estate professions, and building community awareness. Victims of discrimination are offered services free of charge.
