Relapse Prevention Group
White Deer Run/Cove Forge BHS recognizes the high rate of relapse within the chemically dependent population. We believe that treatment must include a treatment plan that addresses the issue of relapse prevention. As a part of this process, we require each client to participate in relapse prevention planning. The first step in relapse prevention emphasizes the identification of personal stressors or triggers that could lead to relapse. Next, the client participates in exercises to help them plan to eliminate or minimize identified triggers. Typically, this discharge planning hinges on an evaluation of the client's living environment and may lead to relocation or some other drastic change in their post-discharge living environment.
