Franklin County Housing Authority - Family Self Sufficiency and Home Ownership Program

Open to all residents in Public Housing or those who hold a Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 Voucher. Anyone who currently holds a Section 8 voucher through FCHA is eligible to apply for the Home Ownership Program, regardless of educational level, work experience, or current employment status.
Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00am to 4:30pm

Individuals need to contact the Resident Initiatives Coordinator and complete a pre-enrollment application for acceptance into the program. For the Home Ownership Program: A) Have a Section 8 Voucher. B) Be consistently employed for one year C) Complete Homeownership Education

Description

Encourages and assists families to become self-sufficient. Participants are assigned a coordinator to help them set and reach goals related to becoming self-sufficient, such as receiving more education, job training, help with childcare, a career, home ownership, and any other goals they may have. Offers a financial incentive to families through an escrow account (see Helpful Tips for more information).
