Eligibility

Service members eligible to receive emergency communications regarding an immediate family member include: On active duty in the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force or Coast Guard An activated member of the Guard and Reserve of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces A civilian employed by or under contract to the Department of Defense and stationed outside the Continental United States A cadet or midshipman at a service academy; ROTC cadet on orders for training A Merchant Marine aboard a U.S. Naval Ship

Description

Helps military families communicate with their loved ones and facilitates their return home during a verified emergency through the Hero Care Network. Connects families after an illness or death of an immediate family member, or a significant life event such as the birth of a child. If an emergency requires leave for a service member, will verify the emergency to the appropriate military commander. Eligibility for emergency leave will ultimately be determined by each service member’s commander.

Provides Disaster Services, including food, clothing, shelter vouchers, and medical items replacement for individuals and families affected by natural disaster or catastrophic fire. Helps to connect individuals serving in the US Armed services or working with a military contractor abroad with family in the USA. Offers First Aid and CPR instruction for individuals and groups.
