Eligibility

Individuals requiring Apostille or Certification of documents issued by municipal, county, or state authorities within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Hours

Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm

Application process

Apply by mail by sending the completed Request for Legalization of Documents Form (linked in the Intake Website below). See additional instructions on the main service website. You may also schedule an appointment to obtain Apostilles or Certifications in person via the intake website below. Drop-in service is available, but appointments are preferred.

Fees

$15 per document.

Provides authentication of Pennsylvania public officials' signatures on documents that will be used outside the United States. For documents intended for use in foreign countries, the country of destination determines whether the authentication is an Apostille or Certification. Apostilles and Certifications are not issued for documents that will be used within the United States. Also issues Certificates of Good Standing for verify the appoinmtent of a Notary Public for notarized documents for use outside the United States.
