Geisinger Medication Assisted Treatment Program
Patients in the program receive medication assisted treatment in order to combat the physical and mental symptoms opioid abuse, dependence and addiction. Services include: medications to reduce cravings and prevent intoxication, coordination with concurrent therapy and 12-step meetings designed to provide the tools for living a productive life while avoiding relapse, coordination with outpatient drug and alcohol counseling, weekly and monthly appointments with the MAT healthcare team and coordination of family members help in the treatment process. Patients may be referred by a physician or may self-refer by calling the clinics directly.
