Child Advocate Volunteers
Volunteers are trained to ensure that children, involved with the foster care and/or child welfare system, are affored basic rights and essential needs. Volunteers serve as an advocate, autonomous of the court, foster or child welfare systems, for the child and their best interests.

Application process
Please contact the Susquehanna Valley CASA office if you are interested in a position as a child advocate volunteer. An application is required along with associated clearances. Following acceptance into this program, extensive training is required.

Pennsylvania Court Appointed Special Advocates
Statewide non-profit organization that develops and supports local CASA programs. CASAs are trained volunteers who, when authorized by a judge, speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court. Local CASA associations recruit, train and support their own volunteers.
