Allentown Rescue Mission - Emergency Shelter

52 emergency shelter beds for adult men. Provides opportunities to enter long-term programs. Also provides free meals, personal care items, clothing, shower facilities, laundry, phone and computer services for case management. All men wishing to enter the shelter are screened for any outstanding warrants with the police. All shelter guests are required to leave the premises from 8:00am to 4:30pm and are instructed to utilized that time to end their homelessness. They have a 30 day up or out policy that requires that the guest obtain a job within 30 days to get extensions. Client can also go up into the transformation programs where they can receive a greater level of counseling, teaching, case management and a transitional job on their clean team workforce.

Application process

Call 610-740-5500 ext. 313 to speak with Emergency Shelter Staff for instructions and policy/procedures. It is also recommended to call 211 and get a Coordinated Entry done which places individuals on the By Name List for access to various government assistance programs.

A gospel rescue mission helping to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Restore men in crisis offering an emergency shelter for men experiencing homelessness and hunger providing the most urgent needs of nutritionally balanced meals, clean clothes, a safe place to sleep, free medical care, a Transformation Program offering counseling and classes and providing the men who graduate the Transformation Program with the opportunity to work for the Clean Team Workforce, a program of the Allentown Rescue Mission.
