Handles complaints when people feel they have been discriminated against because of their race, color, religion,ancestry, sex, age, national origin, familial status or disability in the area of housing. Examples of cases include: 1. Refusal to rent to a prospective tenant because of race, color, etc. 2. Charging additional rent due to race, color, etc. 3. Requiring a rental agreement or lease which provides that the tenant shall remain childless or may not maintain a household with a person of a certain age 4. Failing to allow a service/support animal for a person with a disability in an apartment or house with a no pet policy. 5. Not allowing a tenant with a disability that receives social security disability payments the reasonable accommodation of paying rent at a date later than the first of each month when a tenant receives their check after the first.
