Communicable Disease Investigation

Communicable disease investigations are carried out by community health nurses on a daily basis throughout the commonwealth. During the course of an investigation, nurses collect information to determine the source of the disease, make contact with those who have been affected either directly or indirectly, and follow up to ensure both treatment of patients and resolution of the root cause of the disease.
