Serves as a consultant in the investigation of all reportable communicable diseases in the 13 county area. Works in conjunction with the District EPI manager to insure competent and timely services in the areas of communicable disease epidemiology.

Maintains responsibility for planning and coordinating health resources throughout the Commonwealth. Main activities are to monitor the health status of the population; identify and eliminate preventable illness and accidents; reduce the severity of illness and disability; promote healthy behaviors; improve health care quality, access, and accountability; and lead the development of health policy and planning.
