Day Center open to Outreach Clients: Daily, 9:00am to 12:00pm and 3:00pm to 5:00pm

Application process

For Services: Screening on-site from Monday through Saturday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Street Outreach is provided throughout the week throughout Cumberland County; Call 717-448-8850 for direction and support.

  • Experiencing Homelessness
Provides countywide street outreach to people living outside, in vehicles, encampments, and other places not intended for habitation. Works directly with clients to address immediate needs and connect them with shelter, Coordinated Entry, housing resources, identification documents, benefits, employment resources, healthcare, mental-health and substance-use services, and other community supports. Offers a Resource Center at 50 W. Penn Street that provides access to showers, laundry, mail, lockers, basic supplies, food preparation, clothing, and other essential services for eligible outreach clients.

Community CARES provides emergency shelter, homelessness prevention and diversion, Coordinated Entry, street outreach, housing-focused case management, Resource Center services, and seasonal severe weather shelter for individuals and families who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness throughout Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Community CARES operates services in Carlisle and Shippensburg and serves residents throughout Cumberland County.
