Instruction in basic and advanced skills for adults without high school diplomas; classes prepare adults to take the HiSET® and GED® exams, as well as preparations for post-secondary education and the workforce. Classes are offered at a variety of times and locations.

Programs and services reflect its mission to provide quality education services that help students learn and support teachers in bringing best practices to the classroom as well as offering valuable services to school districts.The CSIU's primary service area consists of Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder and Union counties in central Pennsylvania. This area includes 17 school districts, 3 career and technical centers, 69 nonpublic schools, 3,905 district, instructional, administrative and support staff and 36,945 public and nonpublic school students.
