Employment Advancement & Retention Network (EARN)

Provides comprehensive case management, remediation, education with special emphasis on individuals with limited English proficiency, skills training, work activities, job placement, and retention activities, as well as providing supportive services, including payment for childcare. Included in EARN are services especially designed to meet the needs of out-of-school pregnant and parenting youth between the ages of 18 to 22, as well as non-assistance custodial or non-custodial fathers. Work activities in EARN include unsubsidized employment, subsidized employment, paid work experience, and community service.

Helps Pittsburgh-area businesses by offering training funding to bring new workers on board, as well as with customized job training programs. Helps jobseekers by providing free training opportunities in Pittsburgh and connections with a variety of job-search services. Helps young people by providing paid summer internships at major corporations in Pittsburgh and other career exploration activities. Works with educators to ensure that training programs match employer demand. Provides research to policymakers on unemployment rates, employment trends and job outlooks.
