Extending its service to individuals in their workplace, Diakon Family Life Services - Capital Region offers employee assistance programs designed to help workers deal with issues that affect their lives-and productivity. The service is provided to employers who then offer the counseling service as a companion benefit to employees' health-care coverage. Features of Diakon Family Life Services' Employee Assistance Program and business consultation services include: Short-term counseling, referral, and consultation for employees ; Managerial consultation as well as training; In-service training and staff development; Consultation around workplace compliance on such issues as sexual harassment and substance abuse ; Critical Incident Stress Debriefing ; Wellness programs and materials As with most employee assistance programs, this service is contracted to employers with an administrative fee as well as charges for counseling services based on employee use.
