Geisinger's Janet Weis Children's Hospital School
Provides educational services like teaching and testing, as well as assistance with children.s re-entry to their home school to children who are patients at Janet Weis Children's Hospital. School is staffed by a state-certified teacher employed by the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit. Teacher maintains a connection with each child's home school teacher to get information about assignments, the child's educational history, and to be sure the child receives credit for attendance and assignments he/she completes while at the Hospital School. The teacher will also suggest services and activities that will aid in the child's return to school. The Hospital School is located on the third floor of Geisinger's Janet Weis Children's Hospital. Services are also provided at your child's bedside when needed.

Eligibility
The Hospital School is available for patients of Geisinger's Janet Weis Children.s Hospital who are hospitalized beyond two school days and in grades K-12 or to students receiving special education services from ages five to 21. Patients with chronic illnesses that require shorter, but frequent, hospital stays also qualify for enrollment into the Hospital School.
