Monday through Thursday: 11:00am to 8:00am 11:00am Friday through 8:00am Monday Holidays: 24 hours
Application process
A) If possible, submit information through the Intake Website (linked below) before going to Court. B) Proceed to:
  • a Magisterial District Court (Monday through Friday, 11:00am to 3:00pm) OR to
  • Pittsburgh Municipal Court (any time, day or night, EXCEPT Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 11:00am)
C) After the paperwork has been submitted, a Judge will hear the case and determine whether the request will be granted. D) If the request is granted, individuals seeking a PFA must report to Family Court to file a petition for a Temporary order to extend the duration.
