Juvenile detention is the temporary and safe custody of juveniles who are accused of conduct subject to the jurisdiction of the court who require a restricted environment for their own or the communities protection while pending legal action. Shelter care provides temporary and emergency care for alleged and adjudicated dependent and delinquent juveniles. The shelter helps children and their families by providing professional therapeutic and supportive services that will enable them to achieve their full potential.
