White Deer Run Treatment Network - Residential Dual Diagnosis Program (MISA)
Dual Diagnosis patients suffer from two destructive illnesses: psychiatric disorder and addictive disease. We have developed a program to treat both illnesses simultaneously. The goals for the patient are to: Accept and recognize the illness. Develop and improve coping skills. Eliminate dysfunctional behavior. Return and live safely in a community setting. Psychiatrists are on staff. In addition to attending regular AA/NA meetings, clients participate in individual, group and family therapy and are oriented to twelve-step recovery. Psychotropic medication is administered based on the individual psychiatric evaluation with psychiatric illness and chemical dependency treatment.
