Eligibility

Individuals and families in Cumberland County experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis who are seeking homeless-system services. Eligibility for individual housing, prevention, diversion, or shelter programs is determined through assessment and the requirements of the specific program or funding source.

Hours

Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm Saturday, 8:00am to 11:00am

Serves as a Coordinated Entry Access Site for Cumberland County. Coordinated Entry provides a standardized assessment and referral process to help individuals and families experiencing homelessness or a housing crisis identify appropriate shelter, housing, prevention, diversion, and supportive-service resources. Community CARES also provides mobile access to Coordinated Entry through Street Outreach for people experiencing unsheltered homelessness who may be unable to access the walk-in site.

Community CARES provides emergency shelter, homelessness prevention and diversion, Coordinated Entry, street outreach, housing-focused case management, Resource Center services, and seasonal severe weather shelter for individuals and families who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness throughout Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Community CARES operates services in Carlisle and Shippensburg and serves residents throughout Cumberland County.
