Eligibility

Students within school districts, K-12, who have been referred by a teacher and/or guidance counselors. Kindergarten students may also be referred by community programs, where appropriate.

Application process

Students are referred by day school teacher and/or guidance counselors. Once registered, parents/guardians are encouraged to meet with SHINE Center staff. Enrollment forms must be completed including a liability waiver, emergency contacts and medical information.

Description

Afterschool program for children K – 12 at school centers throughout Carbon and Schuylkill Counties. Students are referred primarily for academic purposes. Educational programs, including homework assistance and STEAM-focused projects, are taught and a hot meal is served. Also offers summer programs.
